Wednesday, August 9, 2000. About 9am today, a main Verizon cable was cut in Surry that affected our Internet connections and telephone service. All of Hunterdale was down. Service was restored at about 2:15pm today. Thursday, July 27, 2000. We just got a call at 9:15am from GTE. They have re-routed our high speed circuits to a stable path while they continue to discover what is causing the problem within the original path. This means that our transitions should now be eliminated, hence no more disconnects. Thank you for your patience in this matter. Thursday, July 27, 2000. We are still experiencing a problem with the GTE circuits. GTE personnel are working to resolve the transitioning problem. The circuit path travels from Capron to north of us over to Smithfield and then down to Great Bridge. The problem is suspected to be somewhere in that path. From Franklin to Capron looks ok. to down Wednesday, July 26, 2000 . For the past two days, we have experienced a problem with the GTE circuits. The circuits will transision. Each time they do, the duration down is 1 second. While this does not affect our Internet connection, it does cause all of our dial-in lines to disconnect. The 1 second interuption is enough to kick everyone off of our access servers. Calls to GTE have been made and trouble tickets have generated by GTE. They are monitoring the circuits and Beldar is monitoring the circuits too. We will post the transision times so that you can match it up and see if you were disconnected at the same time. Otherwise, if you are having a problem, it may be totaly un-related to this problem.
