In order to establish your home page, you need three basic components. The first is a place or location for your home page code. Beldar provides to you, as part of your access account, a location for your home page code.
The second basic component the home page code itself. Web code or home page code is written in a standardized language called HTML. You must have knowledge of HTML to create the code.
If you wish, Beldar Internet can put together home page HTML code for your personal home page. The cost depends upon the size and complexity of the site.
The third and final component required is a means by which to transport or transfer your HTML code to your home page location. File transfers are usually performed on the Web using FTP or an FTP program. HTML is typically developed on the PC, then transfered to the Internet server location via FTP.
If you wish to set up a home page, please fill out the form below. We will contact you once your location has been set up. All of your home page HTML code needs to be placed in a sub-directory in your home area. The name of the directory must be "public_html." This is where you transfer your HTML code. Make sure the start page for your home page code is named "index.html.". We also strongly suggest that you keep all of your filenames and filename references in lowercase.
Once your home page is established and your HTML code is uploaded you can reference your site by entering:
http://www.beldar.com/~username/
Your personal home page will be displayed.
Remember that the content of a personal home page or personal site must be personal in nature. You can not conduct business or commercial enterprise on a personal home page. Beldar Web Services does provide Web services for businesses under a different cost structure which is geared toward the successful promotion of your businsess on the Internet.
